Privacy Policy
The short version: your clipboard history never leaves your Mac. ClipCanyon has no servers, makes no network requests of its own, and collects no personal information whatsoever.
1. Who we are
ClipCanyon (bundle identifier com.clipcanyon.app) is a clipboard manager for macOS developed by Amit Raj ("the developer", "we") and distributed through the Mac App Store. This policy explains what data the app handles and — mostly — what it doesn't.
2. What data the app handles
To do its job, ClipCanyon reads the contents of your macOS clipboard and keeps a history of items you copy (text, links, and similar content), along with metadata such as the detected content type and whether you pinned an item.
All of this is stored only locally on your Mac, in the app's local storage (macOS UserDefaults). It is never transmitted to the developer or to any server the developer operates — no such server exists.
3. What we collect
Nothing. Specifically, ClipCanyon has:
- No user accounts and no sign-in. We never ask for your name or email address.
- No analytics and no telemetry. We do not track how you use the app.
- No crash-reporting SDKs, third-party trackers, or advertising.
- No collection of personally identifiable information of any kind by the developer.
4. Network activity
The app makes no network requests of its own. The only network activity associated with ClipCanyon is Apple's own StoreKit system handling the optional ClipCanyon Pro in-app purchase and validating its receipt. That exchange happens between your Mac and Apple.
The developer never sees or processes your payment details, and receives no purchase or usage data from Apple beyond the standard, aggregated App Store sales reports Apple provides to all developers. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. Your controls
- Ignore Apps: you can exclude specific apps (for example, a password manager) from clipboard monitoring. Content copied in an ignored app never enters your history.
- Clear history: you can erase your entire clipboard history at any time from within the app.
- Delete everything: uninstalling the app removes it; since all data lives on your device, nothing remains anywhere else.
6. Data sharing and sale
Your data never leaves your device, so there is nothing for us to share or sell. We do not — and cannot — sell, rent, or disclose your clipboard data to anyone.
7. Children
ClipCanyon collects no data from anyone, including children. The app is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children.
8. Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices ever change, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Because the app collects nothing today, any future change that involved collecting data would be a significant change, clearly announced in the app's release notes.
